Dick Rhody aka Dick Dastardly SASS # 45219 is the pard that puts together the Big Lube™ Newsletter. He's older 'n dirt, born back near the beginning of WWII. Northern Wisconsin, barely south of the glacier was home to his childhood. The North Woods were his playground. Hunting with the "Old Rhody" gang fermented the strong heritage of love and respect for the wild.
Black Powder was loaded and shot by the Oldest of the Old Rhody hunters, Grandpa Rhody. He cast 38?55 bullets at the kitchen wood stove and loaded his own ammo. From exposure like this, DD developed his lifetime interest in Black Powder.
Back around 1970 DD bought his first Black Powder gun. A fine Thompson Center Seneca 45 Cal front stuffer. That's when he sold his "modern" deer rifle and moved to killing Bambi the old way. Shortly after that, DD got his first revolver. The Ruger Old Army (ROA) with brass backstrap and squareback trigger guard still fills his holster and now shoots at CAS.
About two years ago DD got involved with Big Lube™ bullets when he picked up his Mav Dutchman from the hands of ol Mav, himself, at Calhoon, LA. Soon following that it became apparent that the staus of getting the molds needed by CAS shooters of the Holy Black were piecemeal at best to purchase. So, Dick started the Big Lube™ mold business.
